Many of the organizers for the groups that will be protesting the Democratic National Convention held a press conference on Saturday. Included are Recreate '68, Revolution Newspaper, Code Pink, Unconventional Denver, Military Families Speak Out, Come Up To Denver, Troops Out Now Coalition, and World Can't Wait.

Million Musician March?
Q. How many musicians does it take to make a million musician march?
A. About thirty.
This march commemorated the FIFTH YEAR of the Iraq war. It was "organized" by Instruments for Peace, but was sorely under attended considering SXSW has doubled the population of Austin with musicians and music fans, many of whom would probably have enjoyed participating. But, apparently the organizers didn't feel they needed to reach out to the visitors, so the march was pretty weak.
Activist leaders need to remove their ego from the equation and work collaboratively and aggressively to achieve change.
